The recent makeover at Western Approaches has injected a fresh and captivating ambience into various rooms, significantly elevating the overall visitor experience. The introduction room, featuring a state-of-the-art £10,000 projection system, provides a truly immersive and captivating start to the museum journey.

The recruitment hall stands out with its vivid showcase of diverse roles recruits could have joined, complemented by compelling displays, sounds, videos, and projections. The teleprinters, switchboard, and radio rooms have been enriched with new multimedia elements, adding depth to the historical narrative. The operations room now boasts an exciting new projection, introducing an additional layer of dynamism to the space.

The redesign also extended to the revamped tea room, now centered around the end of the war. The incorporation of a new video and enhanced set dressing creates a poignant and reflective atmosphere, allowing visitors to deeply immerse themselves in the historical significance of that period. Overall, the redesign tells a more coherent and compelling story, making the museum experience much more appealing, especially to younger generations.
