My first foray into the wonderful world of Big Heritage began circa 2012 AD, with me working alongside Dean and Gary to develop Big Heritage’s strategic plan. Having completed this work and completing a challenging and enlightening journey together, both directors asked me to join the Board, to continue providing strategic guidance and advice to the ongoing evolution and development for an enterprise I’m incredibly passionate about.
With a bachelors and master’s degree in marketing, my professional career has seen me work on projects and alongside organisations from across the three sectors, giving me a breadth of enterprise insight from a commercial, commissioning and community perspective.
I also hold board positions for other education-led enterprises and charities, allowing me to contribute to greater community impacts related to learning. I’m also an avid foody, keen walker and borderline obsessed with rock climbing.
Favourite Historic site/monument: Hadrian’s Wall has made an impression. From happy childhood memories visiting connecting fort sites of Birdoswald and Vindolanda, it serves as a reminder for that my dear homeland of Cumbria was, and to some (me) still is very much the centre of the universe.
Favourite Find: Similar to Dean, my favourite find was in the loft. In a corner that had never been touched from before my parent’s moved in, I found in a plastic container miles and miles of Scalextric track. At that moment of discovery these interconnecting sheets of metal and plastic were more valuable than every precious metal and stone on earth.
