Cadw Castles School Visits

Home » Cadw Castles School Visits

Bring your school visit to life with engaging and interactive workshops at some of the awe-inspiring castles of Edward I in North Wales. The magnificent castles of Beaumaris, Caernarfon, Conwy and Harlech, are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and each castle has an amazing and unique story to reveal.

Each school visit is led by a character from the past, whose distinctive stories have been uncovered during research into the rich history of each castle. The characters will take pupils on a fantastic journey into the dark and mysterious past. Pupils will be encouraged to get hands on with history, through smell, object-handling and role-play.

It's not just the character-led workshop that will make your school visit exciting! Once the trip through time has ended and you are back in the 21st Century, pupils can explore the castle using Cadw’s UNESCO Inspector packs. Armed with a fun and informative worksheet, an inspectors badge and a pair of binoculars, pupils will be invited to see the significance of the castle and its special place in the world.

The visits are delivered by Big Heritage on behalf of Cadw and are available in Welsh or English.
